Standard Covered: SE.2.A.1 - Demonstrate how to be a friend (e.g., sharing, taking turns).
This story-based activity helps Millie practice important social skills in a safe, guided environment. By seeing the direct results of her choices, she learns the cause and effect of friendly (and unfriendly) behaviors.
How to Help:
- Read Together: Read the scenarios out loud and talk through the choices before she picks one.
- Ask "Why": When a result appears, ask why she thinks the other person is happy or sad. "Why was it a good idea to take turns?" or "Why did your friend feel sad when you didn't share?"
- Connect to Real Life: Talk about times when she has shared toys with friends or siblings. Praise her for times she has been a good friend.
- Role-Play: Use her stuffed animals or dolls to act out similar scenarios. Let her be the one to decide what the "friendly" choice is.
